Legal Hub

Coordinate active legal cases against mercenary spyware developers and state actors, providing victims with immediate access to legal advice, representation, and strategic litigation support.

Legal Hub

Victims of mercenary spyware abuse face complex legal challenges due to the nature of the technology and the perpetrator (most times, the same government that is supposed to defense their rights is the one to violate them).

In order to help mitigate this reality, we are establishing a one-stop legal support hub. This hub aims to provide victims with immediate access to legal advice and representation, empowering them to assess their situations accurately and consider potential litigation against the perpetrators of digital surveillance.

Our legal support initiative will focus on several key areas:

  1. Assessment and Advice: Victims will receive comprehensive evaluations of their cases, including the viability of legal action against entities responsible for deploying spyware against them.
  2. Litigation Support: For victims pursuing legal recourse, we will offer guidance on navigating the legal system, potentially including assistance in filing lawsuits and representation in court.
  3. Misinformation Defense: Given the prevalence of misinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting victims and muddying the truth, our legal hub will also provide strategies to combat these tactics legally. This includes advising on defamation claims and other legal remedies to restore victims' reputations and counter false narratives.

By offering these services, we aim to address the immediate legal needs of victims and set a precedent for governmental accountability in the misuse of mercenary spyware.

Goals

  • Provide immediate legal assessment and advice to victims
  • Coordinate representation for complex litigation against multiple defendants
  • Support victims through legal processes while protecting their rights

Expected Impact

  • Transform victims from passive targets into active legal challengers
  • Establish legal pathways for accountability and justice
  • Create deterrent effect against future spyware deployments
  • Demonstrate that surveillance abuses have real legal consequences
